Vertex colors and Zbrush?

Hi all,

I noticed in one of the Zbrush Zsphere Zscripts, that somehow the instructor changed the Zsphere/mesh color somehow…

I was wondering :

1… How do I change Zsphere colors…

2… Is that Vertex coloring on the Final mesh…

3… dose the vertex coloring Export…

:slight_smile:

Thanks in advanced :slight_smile:

All you need to do is select a different color than white in the color palate. You can also assign any type of material to your zif’s as well.

To have multiple colors, you must select your first color and then press Color>Fill Object. This activates vertex shading. Now each new ZSphere that’s added will be whatever the current color is. In addition, the linking spheres between two differently-colored ZSpheres will be colored with a gradient. The skin generated this way will also be vertex shaded to match.

This is realy cool, Thank you Aurick,

I am going to go and test to see if the OBJ MTL file retains the Vertex coloring :slight_smile:

If this is the case, I have a great new way to texture My stuff for a Toon Shader game I am working on :slight_smile:

Thanks also to wchamlet,

I realy appreciate all the help I get in thease forums :slight_smile:

This is the best software I own! and My favorite comunity :slight_smile:

Ummm is there a way to increase the texturesize for the generated skin?

Texture size or mesh density?
Regardless…lol…its yes to both. Just make a new texture with the texture palette and apply it by cllicking on it.

Ummmm, Mahlikus The Black ?

When I make a new texture it looses the colors, and makes 1 solid colored texture…

Is there a switch, for makeing the vertex colors show up in the New texture?

Thanks for your help :slight_smile: I love your artwork!

Just create a new texture as MTB said. Apply it to your vertex shaded object and press Tool :small_orange_diamond:Modifiers :small_orange_diamond:Texture :small_orange_diamond:Col>Txr.

You can colour zspheres easily, one node at a time if you want, using Digits Zif Slick script. It took me about 30 mins to do this;

The button in Zif Slick I used is this one;

Yes, the colours of the zspheres are copied to the polygons when you create the mesh. This can then be converted into a texture giving you a great base texture to start with.

I did have a few problems with the Zif Slick script giving error messages. But I just clicked ‘ok’ and it seemed to carry on ok.

Sleeper

Glad to see my script being used to great effect! You can also hover the mouse over a sphere and use the shortcut key ‘c’ to color the node with the currently selected color.

Zbrush People are so Cool!!!

Thankyou all!!! This is great!!!

I am going to go and try it now!!!

@ DIGITS… Thanks for script :slight_smile:
