Using texture map to make a controlled mask?

Hi everyone!

I wonder if it is possible to make a “Mask” in Zbrush through paint a “Mask” in a texture map in photoshop with help of UV grid?
I hope someone can help me here or show me to a tutorial how to make it.:rolleyes:

You maybe wonder why I want that. (See the picture to understand my situation)
It is because I find it difficult to make a controlled masking on this ammo ramp in Zbrush. And I have already UV mapped this thing, so that’s why I thinking how about to paint the mask in Photoshop and that project that mask to the ammo ramp through texture map.

Easy. Check the Tool>Masking menu. You’ll find options to mask by Hue, Intensity or Saturation. These use the values of your currently applied texture (or polypaint).
