Two Questions

  1. So far I can only find the insert multi mesh for primitives, the default human parts, and the model kit. Is there a way to add more? Is there a way to add your own models into the multi mesh tool? I want to be able to make small, low poly models and then insert them like you do with the model kit without having to go through the pain of using subtools and having to carefully position each one.

  2. Is there a way to mirror a subtool that has been inserted? Say for example, you insert a sphere and then move it to far right on the x-axis; is there a way to make a copy of that sphere appear on the left side of the x-axis without having to try and do it manually?

EDIT: Thank you for the responses! They helped a lot. :stuck_out_tongue:

  1. As far as I know you can’t add your own meshes to an exiting Insert Brush. That’s one of the ‘restrictive options we have on Core’
  2. And you can mirror by pressing ‘mirror and weld’ under Geometry->Modify topology.

Yes, Mirror And Weld is a good way to do it, though you must have the object on the left side of the axis (the same side as the red axis line when the floor is active). If it’s on the other side then it will disappear!

There is also a Mirror option in the Tool>Deformation menu. This will simply switch the subtool across the axis so you need to duplicate it first.

Both methods won’t work with subdivisions.
