Trucy Wright (Ace Attorney)

I though it would be fun to make a child version of a character, so I chose my friends favorite gal,Trucy Wright. She was really fun to work on although my mesh turned black suddenly and wouldn’t let me poly paint, although it did still let me sculpt. I checked colorize and textures, nothing seemed off. If any of you had this challenge, I suggest creating a separate OBJ file for the mesh/sub tool, restarting ZBrush, opening a new file and importing the OBJ. This worked for me but I am still unsure how this occurred and if there are any better ways to fix it.

Although it could be me and my tom-fullery at play:lol:

If you have encountered this and dealt with it differently, please leave a comment that way we can get to the bottom of this:D

Thanks!

Im new here, i just want to make sclupts like this. Simple but clean. Can you post how you modeled this?
thanks

Unfortunately I didn’t save the undo history for this project, as I saved it as a Tool instead and because it was just a quick fun exercise to do. Although, here is the main workflow that I normally use:D:

  1. Initial forms (low poly) using move tool
  2. ZRemesh for nice topology for finer details
  3. I will normally use pinch and the dam standard brush on add for eye shape
4)Secondary details with the standard brush and/or clay build up
    5)Refine
    6)Refine
    7)Refine:+1:

I myself have only been using Zbrush for almost 3 months now, so I hope this helps but what I can say for you is work from bottom to top in terms of detail. The smooth brush is my best friend when refining, alongside the dam standard brush. Finally what I recommend you doing is watching quick sculpts to see different processes, or even last years sculpt off (you can find it on You-Tube) which helped me alot.

I hope this helps =)
