Hi there,
Welcome to the forums. a little late response (I’m not always very active here) but oh well… Better late then never?
As cliched as this may sound my suggestion is to start by setting some goals for yourself. Nothing too extreme, just something simple. And then do whatever you can to reach that. Of course, without any tutorials while you’re working if it can be helped but I’m sure you’ll need to peek a few times anyway
For example… try to make a tire, then maybe a lamp? How about a ring? Simple goals which can test your basic knowledge of ZBrush, but can also be useful for 3D modelling elsewhere. And then of course slowly take things further. After you have a (useful) 3D model you could then focus on texturing it (for example).
That’s basically what I’m doing. Set some goals, and then try to make that work. Of course it also helps me that I enjoy 3D modelling in Daz Studio and I’m basically using ZBrush to (try) and enhance all that. So trying to make my own 3D props and such (GoZ for the win ).
And then basically continue doing that. Every time it should become more easier to start something new and you should also become more familiar with the interface. Speaking of which… that might be a good first start: setting up the interface so that it fully matches your style, ZBrush’ interface is like elastic: you can fully customize it to your liking.
Well, in addition to the above… don’t forget Pixologic’s own tutorials:
That site helped me a lot to get started, and there’s a lot more out there. Also check out their YouTube channel, you may in specific enjoy the “Ask ZBrush” series, there they pick out a question from the community and then explain it while also showing you how they’re doing it. That can also be a really good source of info.
So yah, that’s where I am currently at.
