From another angle.
C’mon…is this wip SO bad that it doesn’t deserve a single “dude, don’t quit yer day job” comment?
hmmmmm…
You gotta give these people time. They can be quite slow (and somewhat apathetic). I’d say I like the sculpt. The muscles are well placed and appropriately exaggerated. The only thing I’m not thrilled with is the face. It works well with the body, but it just doesn’t have enough character to really make the character pop. I’m not sure what I can really say in that respect though, cartoon faces are hard to get just right. If Mickey Mouse’s eyes were just a little bigger or smaller he might not be the icon he is today.
Edit: Oh, and don’t quit your day job, the elves are pretty cool.
As twitchingmonkey said the sculpt isnt bad at all.
Obviously the musles arent realistic especially in the abs area
but im guessing thats not you intention.
They are placed right mostly and
as a stylized comic muscle guy he could work.
But as he also noticed the face totally blows it.
Its not very muscular and stylized in a bad way.
Its also not sculpted very nice and has some jagged and to hard pinched
areas. Id say smooth out the face and give it another go.
Look at references of muscular comic characters that should also help.
Keep up the sculpting
I have to agree with the others: It’s the face that doesn’t fit. The body looks like the Hulk, but the head looks like some old drunk that got his face caught in a door. They just don’t work together. I would redo the face. Give him a smaller nose. Hope that helps.
I like it…
Cool character, I like the style
hahaha, hilarious!!!
Marvin =)
I dig the kinda blobby style, but perhaps some more work on the abs and face would make it really good imo =) great pose though. keep it up!
Sweet, I like how the arms’ bones don’t serve the purpose of holding the muscles but are outside; he’s so strained that the bones are squeezed out cool if you ask me
You have no idea how helpful it is to hear constructive crits from talented artists. Thank you all SO much for taking the time to offer your valuable guidance. For noobs such as myself, it’s “Gold Jerry, Gold”.
I’ll post some updates as soon as I can.
cheers.
