The Black Paladin

Another weekend another start of new character, this time Im taking on an Idea for a corrupt paladin knight. Not sure how far I’ll get but I really do want to get an upper body shot at least with a cool pose.

Anyway heres my head concept

STEP1.jpg

That idea of a black paladin sounds exciting! I believe the historic paladin had a connection with religion. Maybe it would be cool to give the black paladin some dark voodoo/religion symbolism?
Looking forward to what you’ll make of this!

cool idea plak maybe somthing on his shield, voodish. Paladins had those long shields that could block a nuke. They were also known for wearing so much armor that you could almost walk up to them and tip them over;) Thank god for Auras huh;)

Step 2 Just roughing in the armor. Once done Ill work on the head to armor size problem;)

wow thats comming along very nicely! Keep updating!

You’re going fast! Nice results with that slash brush. We’ll just sit here and watch you improve it won’t we.

That looking very good  :+1:

step 7
Wanted a really straight pose for this character somthing like him standing guard. But I have made him also for posing and can easily decide later if I would like to make him in a more dynamic pose as a second piece.

The gleaves were very fun to do. I’m working on every piece as a model in itself then attaching it to the other models via combine.

Now I have some final straps that weight down the cloth and of course a very cool lance or halbert. Top that off with a shield and a Aura surounding the character and he should turn out very detailed piece.

His skirt needs to be more leather like i think.

Wow, whole figure all ready! He does look a bit… small right now I feel. Is that what you are aiming at? Or are you going for a strong evil knight? My first impression on the last image was a slightly comical one. (maybe it’s the skirt  )
Keep going, I guess you have the whole final picture in your head already.

I think your right plak its the head to body ratio thing still. I want really tall and thin but more ominess.
Im also thinking of a shrunken head engraved into the shield. Cause I did like that Idea of a voodoo knight. Ill be able to pull that off with the shield and Aura around the character. Along with all the nick nacks hanging around his belt that I will paint in.

The over all design was the idea of a remake of this guy with my own person flare. And more of a fighter than a spell caster. So after thinking that I decided wow, I strayed away from that a whole heck of alot, and went my armor building way with the project.

Ohhhh I like the last one go for that, it seems to match the ornatness of his armor!

Wanted a shrunken head for the shield. Then decided why not finish it as a dangling thing for his neck or armor also.

step-14.jpg

I love this shield! :+1:

Very inspirational, keep up the good work :+1:

That shrunken head is just the thing Canned! Nice job on that. :+1: Can you demonstrate how exactly you used layers for that shield? I never use them, but would like to learn what I can use them for!
It’s interesting to see how you use photoshop to get your bearings for the armor part. 's Gonna be great!

Ya I have tonight off and a shield video would be fun.
That multi layer thing almost cant wait to try that on another object anyway;)
