texture map 300dpi 8192pixel

Please i need answer, basically in zbrush texture map maximum 81928192 and 72dpi, how to create texture map 81928192 300dpi (for printing)?

You’re confusing pixel dimensions and dpi. An image of 8192 x 8192 pixels can be set to any dpi you want, in a program that supports dpi like Photoshop. So, an image of 8192 x 8192 pixels set to 300 dpi will give a printed image of 27.3 inches x 27.3 inches (or 69.3 cm x 69.3 cm).

In Photoshop:

  1. Click Image>Image Size.
  2. In the dialog, turn OFF Resample Image. This makes sure the pixel dimensions remain the same and your image is at its best quality.
  3. Set the Resolution to 300 Pixels/inch.
  4. Press OK and save the image.

thank for help, it means that a can`t in zbrush work with texture above 72dpi 8192*8192 pixel ? :frowning: (i need it for print my texture)
my dreams is down

can I export texture map in rezolution 8192*8192 300dpi? or only 72 dpi and not above

I think that the point is if you need 8192x8192 you can get that. The dpi is largely irrelevant. You just set the dpi in whatever programme you’re going to use the image. in. This will affect the printed size. So for example at 72dpi, you 8192 image will be about 114 inches square. Whereas at 300 dpi, it will be just over 27 inches. Unless I’m missing something, all you need to know is what resolution you need it exported as, forget the dpi.

thanks for help, my problem in decrease quality image after resize 72->300 dpi in potoshop for printing, i`m starting with texture 8192*300dpi and need after painting similary quality texture, forgive me my english

If you are changing the DPI in photoshop, make sure you DONT have ‘resample’ ticked, as it will try to keep the image the same physical size, rather than the same resolution.

What size does the printed image need to be, in inches (or centimeters) ? The pixel size is NOT the printed size.

25 inches to print(63.5cm)

Thank you. Use 7500 x 7500 pixels in ZBrush and that will print 25 x 25 inches at 300 dpi.

Did you see my post about making sure you don’t have ‘resample image’ ticked in Photoshop?

of coas! thank you, I all understand, for high poly sculpting in zbruch, uvw in uvlayout, texturing in mari and photoshop and xnormal and Ndo - that give me High poly model for print A1 format
