skull X

Hello!

Well, I had to do a skull and as I have seen in the forums it is a kind of fashion to do skulls, jeje.
Untill the moment I am modelling it.

Now I’ll begin with color maps…

Now I’m going for the color map.

By the way… I haven’t touched much materials section, would you recommend any material to start with???

Thank you!

Hello,

I just create a new texture and when I use projection master and I pick up this lines appear in my model. I hace read that I have to solve it using Tool>Texture>Fix Seam but this option is not available. There isn’t any button with this name.

Here is what it looks like:

bye and thanks

revisa otra vez, el boton esta ahífix_seam.jpg

Very nice sculpting.
keep on :+1:

Pues aqui pasa algo porque a mi no me sale:

error2.jpg

Y mira que tengo activada la textura eh, entonces? :open_mouth:

De todas formas a veces me pasa lo de las linias y a veces no. A que es debido?

Thanks for help

suerte

Thanks guys but I didn’t solve the problem yet. I will reexplain it:

  1. I load my tool (the model). I comes with the bump texture as alpha and with an active brown texture. And I can now see how bump affects the model.

The problem is that that lines shown in my last render I posted appear.

  1. If I turn texture off then I don’t see thouse lines, but I don’t either see the bump map afecting the model (the displacement is not active).

  2. If I create a new texture, always with the bump as alpha the lines immediatelly appear and the bump to the model also appears.

  3. If I change the alpha and create a new texture I can paint without any problem and those lines don’t appear.

So It seems the problem is the bump texture. But I cannot fix that texture!! the button doesn’t appear as I have shown. It only appears if I export and import the skull but then the button does nothing.

Thanks for the help.

Have you checked the alpha in your graphics program? Could be it has a narrow border around the outside. With the alpha loaded just go into the alpha menu and select ‘Export’.

hi when working with your alpha in PM

turn the ref slider in the alpha menu to somewhere between 8-15 this will soften the edges, you can also turn the max button on, then you will have to play a bit with intensity settings and focal shift a bit til ya get the bumps without the edges.

In one of the newbie challenges in the challenges forum has scripts that show how to alter the alphas a bit to get em to work without the lines…take a look at those scripts if ya got the time.

Hello

mochie: this is my alpha image, i suppose It can be that why, can’t it?

aminuts:
"turn the ref slider in the alpha menu "
Are you sure it’s called that way? I don’t find it.

“In one of the newbie challenges in the challenges forum has scripts that show how to alter the alphas a bit to get em to work without the lines…take a look at those scripts if ya got the time.”

I have taken a look but I haven’t found it, do you know the name of the topic?

thank you!

I was expecting black lines, because the lines on your model are indented. Hopefully one of the experts will wander by and explain what is happening.

Well, after asking many times in the forums without solving the problem I decided to do the bump again. Thank you anyway.

Here are two more renders with the bump and the color map applied.
The material is a basematerial and I have the three first lights activated…
I haven’t played with zbrush naterials and lights so this set up is not good, If you have any idea of how I could set up materials and lights you can tell me… I will try to pass all to max to render it with brazil.

Not good? Hahaha! Looks pretty damn fine to me!

There’s a thread about textures in the Challenge forum, with some bone type shaders for free download. Maybe they’ll give you a start?

Hello moochie, thanks for comments… I’m sure It’ll get better if i illuminate it with brazil…

But I hace a problem exporting the model…
When drawing polyframe (drtawing quads in diferent colors) the mesh has several colors (but it’s just one object), however when I export to obj it exports each color of the mesh separately, it exports an obj file with 4 objects… anyone knows why?

by the way! thanks for telling me about the bones textures, I’ll take a look

I hope I update it tomorrow!!! tomorrow… that is today :stuck_out_tongue:

That’s just material groups. If you only want one, make sure all of your model is visible, then click Tool > Polygroups > Group Visible and you’ll reduce everything to one group.
