Six-Limbed-Alien Creature

Hello All,

This is my latest project I have been working on for the last two weeks.
Base model in Max, Texturing and High Res.modeling in Zbrush.
I have already started rigging it with Puppetshop Plugin. Basically it will have the same setup as my earlier project Eagle-Man with one difference, it will have simple spring dynamics for the spine and tail. No Animation yet but I will post when I finish skinning the character.
I hope you like it.

As always C&C is welcomed and appreciated.

great concept ive been making somthing simular to this but have yet to finish it!!

This is the sort of project I really like. I love the conceptual work you’ve done on it. The musculature is an interesting drawing on its own. The texture on the zbrush model is really well done.

I also really like the colored pattern in the dorsal fin, it reminds me of 70’s design, or fantasy paintings.

Is your model inspired by a particular fictional character? The Dragon Known as Sir Issac Newton from “Between Planets” seems a possible candidate.

Happy Zbrushing, and thanks for sharing.

…dragon
Cool adaptation of the drawing model!

KOSOVA,

Great job with your new project. Nice to see your workflow, you put some interesting time and thought into this endeavor which shows a well developed created concept. I can certainly appreciate your quality and craftmanship of this model. My only consideration is that with his body so long and powerfully structured that his back leg haunches and middle arms support would probably need to have a bit more girth and mass. As well as maybe turning that middle limb into a type of support with a modified hand with maybe 3 or 4 digits which supports the body since I don’t think I could see this creature rearing up to actually use those hands with any other type of functionality other than keeping itself stable and erect.

Very nice work overall, looking forward to seeing more. Keep up the great work! :+1: :+1:

I must to say , it’s a great job,and show us its concept detail . thanks for sharing.

I like it :+1:

I think the design on the back fin detracts from it though. But then I don’t like tatoo’s either.

Really nice detail. Cool model.

very pretty creature and excellent craftsmanship

Very cool. You’ve put a lot of thought into this. Well done. I love the painting you did of him\her\it. It seems he fits into that environment more. What with all his colouring? Good attention to details too. Though the end of his tail loses some? Sorry for all the nit picking  .

The bump map is a bit too regular and I miss the cool colors you have on the concept. Its not quite up to the concept in terms of scales and definition. Otherwise cool strange concept.

You’re break down and planning stages are excellent. Love every aspect of it. The modeling is awesome.

Only crit is in the design of the skeleton actually working.

So my comments are similiar to two different post.

  1. The two ribs cages are two swallow as the bottom cage creates a neck which is not needed.

  2. I am also creating multi legged creature but it’s more light hearted and cartoon. I will try to post since It’s just sitting around doing nothing.

I think is one of the bestprepoduction work i ever saw in this forum.

Cool execution too.

Congrats.

Victor

Hello All,

Thank you all for your comments. I appreciate it.

troy1617:Thank you, I would love to see your model too.

Wildsketch: Thank you. No its not based on any character. I started this creature actually as quadruped as you can see on my initiall sketch below, but I thought I do something more complicated.

Frenchy Pilou: Thanks a lot.

AngelJ: Thank you. You are making a good point about the middle arms but I didnt want to get to far from the final concept sketch and I imagined this creature to be more of a jungle animal that lives in trees and uses all six limbs equally.

anysoftloft: Thank you.

Blaine91555: Thanks.

SalmonGod: Thanks a lot.

brettSinclair: Thank you, and don’t worry abut nit picking. We all need some critic of our work because two pair of eyes are always better than one.

womball: Thanks.

AVTpro: Thank you. I did have some doubts about the middle cage( Torso) but instead of doing ribbs all the way down I thought this feels better. I would like to see your take too.

ilusiondigital: Thank you Victor. It makes me happy that you like it.

Here are some new stills that I did just to see the deformations while I’m still skinning it.

I hope you like the new stills and sketches, and as always thanks for watching and C&C is welcomed and appreciated.

I love the old school scifi creature look!

the skeletal structure looks a little funny to me but the muscle study seems to make it work. very interesting. thanks for sharing

Great concept and modeling! The renders are really bland right now and take away from the model. I want to see a render with all the bells and whistles, some Vray magic. Excellent work none the less.

Hello All,

billrobertson42: Thank you.

Logick: Thanks.

j lizzle: Thank you too.

I thought I keep you updated with where I am so far with this character. I have set up a new scene which will probably be changed in the end since the background is a still pict.
I’m still working on the muscles with the new upgraded version of Skin FX2 wich has just been realesed with some realy great new features like Flesh simulation. So this is taking me longer because I’m learning the new features as I am working on the character. I’ll post the walk cycle animation as soon as I have completed the muscle setup.

So untill then …thanks for watching and as always C&C is welcomed and appreciated.
