Hi, I’m using cinema 4d and zbrush 3.12 together for the first time and it seems relatively easy to combine the two but I am having some problems with displacement maps. I had a few tries at laying out the uvw to get the best result but I can’t get rid of some slightly raised areas that appear where the seams are. I’ve looked on the web for answers and all I can find are some references to flipping the displacement when bringing it back into c4d which I don’t really understand. I have looked at a video tutorial ( http://www.c4dcafe.com/ipb/index.php?autoc…mp;showfile=443 ) and there is nothing about flipping the displacement map. Can anyone help with this? I’ve attached an image of the problem the lines, they are quite faint but if your trying to achieve a very smooth surface they can be a real problem. Thanks for your time.
Are you restoring your base/cage mesh prior to calculating the displacement map? Or are you simply dropping to level 1 and immediately calculating the map?
I use a morph target when I first bring the obj into zbrush and when I come to create the displacement I drop the subdivisions down to 1 and switch the morph target back to the original.
