Screen Resolution causes Aspect Ratio issue

I’m seeing ok results on my Envision 17inch Flat Screen CRT at 1280x800, but when I set my monitor to 1280x1024 (the max resolution) the image looks compressed while working in Zbrush. Spheres don’t look perfectly round, and are more oval’ish.

Under the ZB3 system specs it says 1024x768. Do I really have to go that low to get a true 1:1 uncompromised aspect ratio?

I have a GTX 8800 card- Don’t know if knowing such can be helpful.

1280x1024 is not a proper 4:3 rez so it will always cause aspect issues in many apps. If you dont want to go to 1024x768, then 1280x960 is the next best one.

Zbrush 3 is the only program on my PC that has the display aspect ratio issue when using 1280x1024. Images on the Web and PSP don’t look compressed, and DVD’s played with WinDVD look normal.

My GTX8800 card gives me a driver error when I lower the display resolution (It reconizes my Envision Monitor and Make and it likes to run at 1280x1024)

I wish there was a fix for this that let 4:3 users use the higher resolutions with out distortion.

The res 1280x960 works. Thanks:+1:
