Howdy!

Finally getting to where I’m ready, skill-wise, to start posting some things here. Comments are appreciated, I have a =lot= to learn about ZBrush.

This is a silly weapon for a silly Steampunk expansion I’m writing for my RPG, RoonVenture.

There’s still some minor detailing I’m planning on doing on this, but it’s close to complete. There’s enough internal detail to show it with the top broken open, but I wasn’t up for playing with Transpose Master before calling it a night. I had to stop myself from adding details that will never show–too used to CAD, I guess.

I like it! Is this 100% zBrush?

Thanks, Turbocop!

Yes, it’s all ZBrush. Lots of solid model work (adds, subracts), Distortions, and Transpose tool operations. There’s a little bit of plain old sculpting in there, too. I’m only just getting a handle on using a lot of these things effectively, but it’s starting to come together. At least to the point that I can start to see what I don’t like about my meshes and try to figure out more of ZBrush to manage that.

It looks like you’ve got a good handle on the hard surface stuff. I’m in the process of learning the same thing. Not an easy task at times. Keep up the good work!

Yes, that was 100% ZBrush. ZBrush has come so far since then–doing additive/boolean geometry was a real chore, now it’s a snap.
