The personal CG work “Reign Behind The Curtain” describes the last female head of the feudal society in China——the empress dowager cixi at the scene of Reign Behind The Curtain. At the end of qing dynasty, the system of Reign Behind The Curtain reached its peak.
In 1861, emperor XianFeng died and the empress dowager cixi allied with the empress dowager Ci An to launch the sinyou coup d 'etat to assist the young emperor TongZhi in the way of Reign Behind The Curtain. Tongzhi emperor died at an early age, 4 years old GuangXu emperor ascended the throne, empress dowager cixi and empress dowager Ci An Reign Behind The Curtain again.Shortly afterwards, the empress dowager Ci An died and the empress dowager cixi took sole charge. After she took over the country’s power, cixi gradually became erratic and fierce, especially for the maid of The imperial palace. It is said that cixi killed some of the maid of The imperial palace because they accidentally saw her aged face. In the half century since the empress dowager came to power, China has experienced “a major change not seen in thousands of years”.
This work is based on the oil painting of a famous Chinese oil painter, the master Huang Zhongyang. Out of my love for traditional culture, I Three-dimensional it and presented it in the form of CG. It can be seen from the works that cixi terrifying surveillance to the emperor’s while hanging the curtain, as well as the maid of The imperial palace respective mentality of catered to and feared.
