Sorry guys for posting this in the wrong forum. But my problem is that I use a laptop and I don’t have the middle mouse button. This is necessary for using maya. Do I have to go out there and buy a USB mouse, or is there a way to bypass this?
Perhaps try the Maya forum, although you might have more luck reading the manual that came with your laptop. It may be possible to remap a keystroke to middle mouse click but it would require some low level understanding of touchpad issues that may even be manufacturer specific. That kind of knowledge isn’t very likely to be abundant here. Even if it was, this isn’t a good question for the Zbrush questions and troubleshooting forum it seems to me, particularly as you’ve already asked it once already and the post was moved to the community forum.

With your information, I think I found out the solution. I played around with clicking patterns. It seems like holding one and clicking the other gives one effect. But for middle clicking, I’m pretty sure it works by clicking both buttons down at the same time,

Just remap the mouse buttons or some keys in conjunction. Old trick, not sure your OS, on OSX this is really easy. Or use a tablet ans assign the pen buttons.
