Problem with exporting OBJ to 3ds Max (texture)

Hi all !!!

I am creating a Starcraft Marine, it will be my biggest project  So i am curios about it if i can manage to finish it or not but i am really stucked now, please help me…

I will list my steps, so can you please tell me where i am wrong by looking at this ZBrush and 3ds Max images?

[ZBrush image.jpg](javascript:zb_insimg(‘184497’,‘3ds%20Max%20image.jpg’,1,0))

Since i created UV’s in ZBrush and changed the angle by 180 by flipping vertically, i am not using UV wrapper in 3ds Max. Can you please tell me what i am doing wrong?

As i said before this project is so important for me…

You need to set the texture size using Tool>Texture Map before you convert the polypaint to texture. With the steps you’ve outlined your texture was initially created at 1024 rather than the desired size.

As for the materials, they don’t transfer to other applications. Materials are a set of instructions that tell the rendering engine what to do with light. Since each program has its own rendering engine, materials can’t transfer between them. You can’t get a ZBrush material into Max any more than you could get a Max material into C4D.

Hope that helps.

Thank you for these answer, but when i check the Tool > Texture Map, i couldnt see an option to change the size of the texture? I changed the texture size with Texture > Width - Height option. Is it ok? Or am i doing something wrong?

You are doing things wrong. But I have to apologize because I meant Tool>UV Map rather than Tool>Texture Map.

Please read the New Features PDF that comes in your ZBrush folder. It will go into a lot more detail about the differences between this and earlier versions.
