Post Apocalyptic Female Concept Character

Hi guys, Here’s the character I’ve been working on, in the past few weeks

Set in a Post Apocalyptic era, this character is a scavenger living off scraps and leftovers. She is stealthy, yet a powerful hand to hand combatant, residing in the sewers and hiding in the cielings. If she finds an interesting object, like a shiny diamond, she wants to own it at any cost. This characteristic is also seen on her attire, being made from stolen parts.

Concept is by a talented artist called Sam Chan - samchanart.blogspot.com/

Modeled in 3dsmax, detailed in zbrush and textured in photoshop. The tri count is 18k tris. Hope you guys like her. I’ll post wireframes soon.

A big thanks to everyone who has helped me accomplish this piece, especially to Keridan Elliot of Sony Pictures Imageworks, who helped a great deal by sharing his thoughts and ideas on my work and reel.

I like her a lot. quite an original style.
one thing bother me though; her eye part looks too much like the rest of the mask, as if it also would be a solid opaque material like metal, which doesn’t make much sense. also simply aesthetically the face could benefit from a better differentiation for the ‘eyes’. something that gives you more the feeling there is actually somebody observing you very closely from behind those “shades”.

really like the colors btw

I love the pose and the colors of clothing. Definitive a great job.

I don’t understand the armor. Why have a tiny piece covering her pubic area but leave her entire chest vulnerable to attack? Even the little chain-mail strips around her legs seem pointless. What are they protecting?

Thank you JulianK, Yes, I wanted to make the eye look like the rest,
Jaimedc, TY

Nice job! The only thing that bothers me is the the little crotch piece in the front. It doesn’t seem to have any function in the drawing, and doesn’t seem to attach to anything within the suit either. Personally I’d just get rid of it, as it seems visually distracting. But other than that, really good job - congrats!

Nice job, I really like the leg armor, (speaking of which) is the leg armor separate subtools? or is it just 1 object, modeling hard surface armor has been one of the biggest challenges for me in all my studies

The idea is catchy. The mask is kinda odd around the eyes. In one sense, having the area around the eyes more defined, it could give more of a living human attachment or at least give someone the sense of where she’s looking. On the other hand, if you got rid of the eyes all together in the mask, you could add a bit more suspense to the design. Could also add a touch of creepy as well. You seem to be shooting somewhere in between. The scene is dark but sports a nice variety of color. The asymmetric design of the armor is actually quite striking yet the crotch plate is a little weird to me.

JimCrafton, THanks for the reply. Some pieces just add value, the crotch piece is one like that, came with the concept, and I wanted to stay true to it.

ArthurRamazanov, Ty…The leg pieces are separate subtools.

Jerick, This is a next gen game model, and the mask is just a texture, not real reflections.
