Perspective view + 3D printing =?

Hello guys!

I training myself on likeness study and I have a HUGE question after that…

I’m satisfied about the look and likeness of my modeling character but I find that in “perspective view” it looks better than “orthographic view”

So next I would like to do a 3D print and I was wondering if we can choose the options to print the model either with the options of the “ortho view” or the “perspective view”?

Thanks for help you can give bros !

Hello @SURMULOT ,

Your model has absolute measurements that determine how it will look when printed, and these have nothing to do with camera settings. Camera settings only determine how the model looks when it is rendered in the digital space.

Orthographic view (perspective disabled) is more of a modeling tool and not a realistic depiction of what the model will look like in the real world. Real human vision always involves some degree of perspective. To get a more realistic view of what the model will look like when printed perspective must be enabled.

There is no camera setting that 100% equals what the human eye will perceive in every situation. Camera reality and optical reality are different things. If you do some searching you can find opinions on what focal length settings best approximate human vision, but this will vary with the situation.
