pen flicks

Hi

I have a wacom tablet, aand I cant find out how to disable pen flicks while using zbrush…

the main issue is that when Im doing a dummy run with the pen, as I do with pencil traditionally, hovering just above the tablet so I can see where the cursor will go without actually touching it, half the time it sufddenly jumps or zooms in! I cant stand it. I dont want to not do the practice run, its a built in response from working traditionally… I dont think I can undo 40 years of habit, though turning off pen flicks might sort it…

how? where? please!! Thanks

Probably depends on your OS but in Control Panel go to Hardware and Sound> Pen and Input Devices.

yeah I tried that already, it made no difference. thats why I was looking for an option within zbrush.

its when I hold down shift as Im about to smooth something. perhaps there is a way to turn off the quick zoom when holding shift? thats really shat I want to do.

OK, I think that you are inadvertently using Mouse gestures:

SHIFT + circle with the mouse = frames the ztool
SHIFT + several vertical movement = zoom in
SHIFT + several horizontal movement = rotate

Currently there is no way to turn off this feature.

ah… that explains why disabling pen flicks dosent work… thanks for the info  Ill have to put up with it

I had problems with this too, I went around and did some research and did a blog post on how to turn off all the windows 7 tablet garbage and pen lag inducing features.
