hi,
In the Tool palette switch on Display Properties>Double.
thank you very much!
that solved the problem.

My guess is that when you modeled the dinosaur, you created one half of it and used your animation package’s mirror feature to duplicate your work on the other side? Well, what happened was that it mirrored the polygons, but not the normals. As a result, the normals on the polygons that you modeled face the correct direction, but the mirrored half all face inwards. You should be able to correct this in your modeling package before you export the figure.
Fixing the normals is a better solution than showing the polygons as double sided. Rendering as double sided essentially doubles the number of rendered polygons and greatly slows down performance as you subdivide your mesh into the high poly range.
thank you too, aurick.
you’re right in saying that i have only modeled one half and mirrored the other one in my animation package (which is cinema 4d), but i only exported the one half to zbrush; so, what you see in my pictures, is only half the model.
strange, i’ve checked all the normals, and they’re ok.
well, for me, the “double-sided” option works quite well (it doesn’t slow down editor speed very much either).
but thanks for your explanations!
cheers
