Old man's hands-MJ's Sketchbook

Hi guys,
I just became a new member of Z brush central.
I have been playing with zbrush for a couple of years but i only started studying it properly.

These hands were sculpted in zbrush and polypainted in zbrush as well.
I already see a lot of problems myself so feel free to give me criticism.
Thank you, MJ.

Welcome to ZBC! Your sculpt really gives the impression of old, dry, brittle hands. Maybe the thumbs look a bit thin/small, and some of the wrinkles/skin folds are a little odd, perhaps overdone in some places, but overall, a nice image. :+1:

this is a perfect job for zbrush. shows off your skills. :+1:

Yeap i agree… The model’s hands were very wrinkly, dry and even dirty but i liked it… Anyway by the time when i was done with his right hand i got bored and lazy…So i totally know what you mean…
Thank you

Nice detailing there!

I have to say that the surface detail makes me wanna say he’s gotta use some Sun Block next time he goes out!

the realism on this hands are amazing!!, the wrinkles the textures, i love it!! no crits.!!

Thank you~
My friend told me the same thing… He said his hands are cooked. He He

These hands are not meant to be pretty :frowning: When i saw a few photos of old men’s hands i thought they were beautiful. I know it’s ironic. But when i saw those heaps wrinkly, burnt and dirt under the finger nails on their hands. He’s hands got character and history. Very different to our lives in front of computers. Isn’t it? And i got very excited.

Anyway i changed the colour a bit…
p.s-English’s not my first language so please understand if you have any trouble to get i’m saying.

WOOOOOO. I saw the thumbnail of these hands and they looked fantastic and then I open the thread and BAM 5 star work. Totally admire your work. Detailing and texturing are perfect.

Be a proud man because you deserve it :D:+1:

…speechless man…the detail and texture coming along very nice.:+1:

I hate you for that - no, just kiddin’, but seriously, AWESOME work, man!!!

May I ask how you managed those fine details?

Really Great work! Great attention to detail.
He needs a moisturizing hand lotion.

Thank you so much for every single comment on my work  I’m very encouraged!!
I’m very passionate about modeling and i’m still learning heaps day by day.

Now, this is my crocodile that i modeled with z spheres for the first time. I polypainted it and I played with it afterwards for studying alphas and masking.
It didn’t really turn out as good as i would have liked but i think it’s time to leave it alone.
Hope you enjoy:)
