Is it possible to transform my landscape in the extension .obj to a map of heights?

Yes, after importing the OBJ into the Tool palette:

  1. Resize the document so that it is the same proportions as your model, so if it is square make a square document. In the Document palette, turn off Pro, set the Height and Width sliders and press Resize. (The document size will be the size of the height map.) Then clear the document (Ctrl+N).
  2. Click and drag to draw your model and press ‘T’ to enter Edit mode.
  3. Adjust your model so that you are looking down on it, and it is square to the document. Press ‘F’ to frame it, and adjust so that it fits exactly the document dimensions.
  4. In the Alpha palette> Transfer section, press the GrabDoc button. This creates the height map in the Alpha palette. Export it using the Alpha>Export button.
