How to to use NanoMesh for a tileable texture?

Thx for any ideas and thoughts!

There’s a plugin specifically in mind for those usecases called NanoTile Textures.
NanoTile Textures is a plugin that allows for the creation of tiling textures using NanoMeshes, InsertMeshes, and even sculptable WrapMode planes inside of ZBrush.
how to use
Thx, but that doesn’t do it.
The Video is 9 years old, I am assuming that the Nano Mesh Plugin is now the integrated vanilla Nano Mesh Feature.
But what’s different, is the feature to create a so called “Create New Tile Tool”, which Joseph shows right here: https://youtu.be/aG1PSVFyrB0?si=eY1WVkcT1ucmqpMz&t=363
This feature, called “Create New Tile Tool” is missing. At least, I can’t find it anywhere.
I can’t figure out how you are able to create a tileable setup, so that the geometry automatically repeats even if you offset the Nano Mesh on the Y Axis, please see image below.
So how to do that?
What settings am I missing here that the Nano Mesh automatically repeats on the left side of the plane when it’s offset.
Also, I want to mention that I am interested in creating a seamless tileable geometry, and not just the texture map.
I got this covered with other video tutorials, and I understand how I can achieve that.
But I am looking for a solution, to create a seamless tileable geometry, that has obviously a row with an offset on y.
Thx a bunch!
No, it isn’t. The NanoTile Textures plugin is in the ZPlugin menu. If it isn’t there, are you sure you installed it correctly? It should go into “ZStartup > ZPlugs64” directory.
yes, I downloaded the .zip file, extracted the content and copied it into that directory.
But the plugin doesn’t show up.
I am using the latest Zbrush version monthly subscription.
Does the Plugin still work for the latest version?
I couldn’t say for sure. I’m using ZBrush 2022.0.8. You might have to contact support or @Spyndel might be able to help you.
NanoTiles Textures correctly shows in the plugin menu for ZBrush 2024.04 on both Mac and Windows.
In the Maxon ZBrush 2024 program folder the .zsc plugin file and the NanoTileTexturesData folder must be placed into Maxon ZBrush 2024/ZStartup/ZPlugs64 and no place else. Make sure you aren’t placing them into ZData/ZPlugs64, and that you are targeting the correct ZBrush installation folder if you have multiple versions installed.
If this does not work as I describe, please contact Support for assistance.
