Mouse wheel not working

I had a hotkey for the middle mouse wheel zoom that seems to have stopped working. I keep trying to re-add it, but when I go through the ctrl-alt-click over the in / out, then scroll my mouse, zBrush does not seem to register that I am scrolling the wheel. I tried manually adding the lines

[DOCUMENT:IN,253] // MOUSEWHEEL UP
[DOCUMENT:OUT,255] // MOUSEWHEEL DOWN

to my hotkeys file, but this doesn’t work. I am able to set different keys to zoom in and out, but this is driving me slightly crazy. Any suggestions?

Hi @skfros

Are you on Windows or Mac?

The reason I ask is that my 2 lines in the StartupHotkeys.TXT file are different. I’m on Windows and the 2 lines I have are…

[DOCUMENT:IN,247] // MOUSEWHEEL UP
[DOCUMENT:OUT,248] // MOUSEWHEEL DOWN

These work for me.

Also, when you are assigning the hotkeys, after you hold Alt+Ctrl and click, make sure your cursor stays over the In or Out button when you scroll your mouse wheel.

I am on a Mac. Those are the 2 lines that I first created by setting the IN and OUT to other hotkeys. I do keep the mouse over the button when I try to set it.

Me being on a PC, I won’t be able to troubleshoot anything for you. You might have a conflict there somewhere. The keyboard keys that the In and Out buttons use are the + and - keys. Did you assign something else to those keys by any chance? If you did, delete the two lines from your StartupHotkeys.TXT file.

Failing that, I would suggest that you start a support ticket to troubleshoot your problem.

Same issue here -please let me know if you resolved this issue with the mouse. (also on Mac)

Same here - following

As a newbie to ZBrush and a CAD guy, ZBER2’s solution worked for me. Add those 2 lines to the end of the contents of the StartupHotkeys.txt file, save and and restart ZBrush. Mouse wheel works fine now.
