Hey if I use Poser 6 to pose a model made in Zbrush can I put cloths on him or will they get screwed up during poseing?
Well, the clothes would need to be made as a conforming figure for the character. Poser can then pose the model and the clothes will go along.
Creating conforming clothing is a fairly complex project in Poser. You should search the Poser forums for exactly how to go about it. The problem isn’t creating the geometry; it’s turning that geometry into a workable Poser file.
So by conforming figure you mean tight clothes right?
If so, I got a problem cause I wanted to make robes. Is this possible to pose?

Like Aurick said, you’re surrounded by ZBrush users. Two or three do use Poser (PusGhetty in particular – check this out, and this), but that’s not generally our area of expertise here. Surely, a Poser-specific community would offer more relevant knowledge?
Regardless, you’re not screwed. You’ll just have to learn Poser a little more deeply than you might have planned.
Lots of dynamic cloth tutorials here. And, just to make your day, here’s a bunch regarding dynamic hair in Poser as well.
Those were both found on the manufacturer’s website, tracked down via Google. So… add “google” and “the manufacturer’s website” to your list of places to check when you’ve got questions about a specific software package.
hey those threads with the goat people were really graet thanks and if i have any other questions about poser ill put it on the’re forum.
i know ive already posted this question on another thread but you guys seem to know what your talking about. The reason why i was asking about poser was because it seemed like a cheap program that would be able to pose my models (which is all i really want to do). If im stuck buying an animation package to rig up my models (considering i don’t wait for 2.5). What do you all suggest? It needs to be mac compatible but other then that any reliable software would work. Should i just get Poser?
I may be wrong but I get the impression that you want to create and pose your own model creations. Poser is not a very good choice for this. Getting a model into poser takes a lot of work. It has to be cut up and has to follow very strict rules to work with the Poser hierarchy.
I would suggest a 3d program like Cinema 4D, that has a bone system for deforming a mesh. Then you can export your creations from Zbrush into your 3D app and apply bones for posing. Poser is great for utilizing the pre-built content that comes with it or can be purchased from vendors like DAZ, but custom models are easier to work with in a full, 3D animation package. Check out Blender, the aforementioned C4D, Lightwave, Carrara, Modo, XSI, etc… These are all designed to work with meshes from other sources, or their own, and with bones, animate or pose the mesh. Zbrush is great for modifying base meshes from Poser and creating customized versions. There’s a 3rd part plugin for C4D called InterPoser that lets you access Poser’s huge libraries of characters and clothing with their textures. Making it easier to clothe and pose figures. Zbrush is a great addition to any 3d program.
However, if you feel you would like to tackle the job of bringing your models into Poser, you can try it out first with DAZ’s free app. called DAZ|Studio. It’s a free download from DAZ3d.com and was designed to let people buy DAZ products without buying Poser. (They had a falling-out a coupld of years ago). DAZ|Studio can export .obj format that Zbrush can read. Modify a head in Zbrush for instance, then bring it back into DAZ|Studio, then pose your figure.
BTW, the folks at DAZ use Lightwave to build their Poser meshes (like Victoria 3, Aiko, Michael 3, David, etc.).
Last I checked you couldn’t rig anything in daz. Just pose figures that are already rigged.
