I watched Apocalypto last night and got inspired, his hair aint stayin its just a fill and i’ve yet to give him a spear or some sort of weapon. So tell me what you think and where it can be improved.

I didn’t know what movie this was from, but I do recall seeing a similar character around here. Must be the same character. It would probably be a good reference. Maybe will check out the movie soon. Thanks for sharing.

Seem like both of you got the cool stance down. Is that from the movie?

its the hair i think, looks like this tarzan character posted a while ago, i’m in the process of changing it now.

I like the texture on the hair. It has some depth for it. Also, the folds on the cloth looks nice.

Tried doin some more hair, i’m tryin for the “i havnt washed my hair for a long time look”. If you have any pointers on hair i’d appreciate em :smiley:

Hey fella,

At first he reminded me of my tarzan model, but I like the direction your taking this in. My first thoughts are that you need to look at your anatomy, try to use as much reference as possible there are plenty of books out there and there is also the net. Really look into the Mayan elements of this character, just by doing a google image search throws up alot of stuff as a start, hope this helps.

Good start fella, look forward to seeing what ya end up with, remember you are only as good as ya reference :slight_smile:

You may want to search the forum as well, I think someone did some models of the apocalypto characters or mayan warriors some time back. Might help. Looking good. I love Mayan style and art myself.
