Mask Blur

Hi,

Just wondering. Is it possible to have a crisp mask when using the mask pen and the draw rectangle stroke?
I am using a very sharp round alpha, have my focal shift to zero and rgb value to a 100, but my mask still comes
out looking blurry as though it’s fading from the center outward. Is there a fix for this or am I just doing it wrong?

thanks,

e1

Try using the Freehand stroke type instead.

If you really need to use the DragRect stroke type, then after drawing the mask simply press Tool >> Masking >> SharpenMask a few times.

your mesh also doesn’t look dense enough to support a “crisp” edge.

It happens regardless of the mesh density but sharpen mask definitely helps.
I’m still curious as to why the drag rectangle stroke behaves this way. Is it
intentional?

Thanks for the help

The Brush Curve will affect the mask intensity in the same way that it will affect sculpting. You can adjust the curve to change the falloff of the mask.
