About a year ago i was inspired by the title of a book by Jose Lopez “mariachi samurai” and decided to take the concept and create a realistic rendering fusing the mariachi style and that of a samurai. Here is the current progress i have made. I’m hoping to have my anatomy of the head checked to make sure its correct, one of my current weaknesses. the image with the guitar is just a very quick mockup of the overall design so far and i’m more then open to any suggestions that anyone might have. lastly i have an image of the mariachi/samurai kabuto helmet. However, your hard surface models look really good, and I think it’ll be a great render in the end. As for the face, something seems off as I move from the top half to the lower. I think the skin on his cheeks needs to have more weight to it, to justify the way the wrinkles around chin and jaw hang. It also looks like the head at his ears could afford to be more narrow, and the ears themselves slightly larger, as they grow larger as we get older, much like the nose. Under the lower lip also seems a tad to bulbous, and it’s hard to read the underlying anatomy there, as well.
