Thought I would take a chance and ask here.
Recently friend lent me a series of tutorials about Photoshop CS2.
They were terrific.
They originated from a site called Lynda.com.
When I explored the site, it seems to be a series of tutorials about
various subjects available as subscription.
Does anyone here belong to it?
Can you recommend it?
Worth the subscription price?
As I mentioned the Photoshop CS2 Essentials were great!! But they were purchase outright and not part of the subscription plan.
Many thanks in advance
I stick to Books. I have no experience with the subscription but did not enjoy the free tut’s so much. They are mostly ‘Push this, push that, button’ tut’s.
Recently I bought ‘Photoshop Artistry’ from Haynes, Crumper, Duggan and that’s a great reference. It goes through projects in depth without ‘length’. Check it out. I also recommend strongly the books from worth1000.com named ‘When Pancakes go bad’ and ‘I’ve got a human in my throat’ which provide insight into a lot of PS comp trickery which is fun on one hand but aids in the composition of CG contents and real life photos. One side effects of the study of this kind of literature is the immense urge to tamper with fellow artists works. I feel deeply sorry for my recent outbursts and just can’t help it 8))))))))). I’m happy that all of my victims had been good sports and that I have not been pummeled for it 8).

Does that mean no?
For me it is worth the price. I use it for checking out diffrent software and getting the basics for diffrent methods of working with the software. The lessons are’t always from the same instructor. They also have a large selection of diffrent kinds of software. If you are looking for more than basic knowlage or tips and tricks then books really do a deeper study but only cover one software. They have a monthly price if you just need to check it out for your self. Hope this helped.
Maybe!
Try it. It’s not that expensive for a month. And if you truly hate a service, then I have not met a single one which has not refunded a fee after a short evaluation time.
Cheers

Many thanks, had forgotten, I have a “green screen” problem with Quicktime.
To be brief , a majority of movies on the internet ( including the Pixologic tutorials) turn to screen upon starting.
Had forgotten this, fortunately Lynda lets you try a few out first.
Oh well!!!
Strange. Did you try and re-install Quicktime? Or maybe it’s time to loose that CGA card and that 80486…

PS:One can;t always have everything. My Browser freezes up when there is an embedded .pdf file. I tried a lot. Quicktime and Adobe stuff are terrible.
PPS:I’ll bring my PS Books at the 27th if you like. Let me know.
Lemonado, many thanks for the offer, appreciate it more than I can
say.
Fortunately ( or unfortunately) whenever I get involved in something
like this, I try and obtain every book written about the subject.
I sometimes think that I unconsiously develop interests so I will
have an excuse to buy more books.
Adobe Photoshop in it’s 7 and CS2 iterations fill a few shelves.
Despite having given away the 1500 books I told you about, there are
many left.
However the video tutorials ( author Michael Ninness) were quite good.
Quicktime problem has been around for awhile.
If you do a search for Quicktime green screen you will see that I am
not the only one with the problem. None of the solutions have worked so
far.
Incidentally will bring copy of tutorials with me.
