Lost high poly sculpt in crash - can I use normals to get back to high

Long time lurker on the forums in need of help.

Was working on a high poly sculpt in t-pose to use in a Unity3d project (portfolio kind of showcase). I exported texture maps and normals and it works great in my simple model showcase project. I was then going to pose it in zBrush and export it for a 3D print. Also use the model in a few other posed sculpts.

Big Problem: My computer crashed and I only backed up my Unity Files to my cloud account. Have all my exported pieces but I’ve lost the zBrush files (and many other zBrush files I had). Computer is in the shop but the tech guys haven’t made me feel hopeful. I can use my low poly and subdivide it a bunch of times (all quads). Can I transfer the normal map details back to my sculpt? Or do I have to re-sculpt my mesh?

I’d hate to have lost all those hours. I learned a valuable lesson the hard way.

Any help would be appreciated.

You could have some luck from a displacement map but for a normal map first you need to convert it to a displacement map and the results would not be great. At least from I know.

That’s what I was afraid of. Fingers crossed that the techs can get my files off the hard drive.
