Looks great. Let’s see the plasma scorched overalls! “Now…here’s yer problem”
i love this model. i was just wondering what did you render this in?
Greased hands clothing , face grease smudges and maybe a little neck tatoo revealed could work. You probally have considered everything already tho.
Any pointers on your eye ball techniques? They look like some of the best Ive seen !
cal
great work this alien face remind me a scary movie…
Heh heh … he’s cool! Love those eyes … just the right degree of psychotic.
Thanks for the replies guys.
I’m rendering with Mental ray, but not all in the one shader, I find it easier to control if I break it up into passes and comp in Shake
3 main render passes. Colour, Occlusion, and detail spec
Thanks calum5ZB, there’s nothing special about the eye setup, I played around with different lens shapes to create a more interesting surface for the spec lights to dance across, they were also rendered seperately to the head as I used 2 extra area lights for the nice “wet” highlights.
Absolutely wonderful…I love him! Doesn’t he work for the Parramatta council? Oh wait… he looks overworked…my mistake! However ‘Kevin’ is the perfect name!
Incredible rendering and lighting too, a dark art I’m a long way from understanding! Is there a ‘Rendering for Dummies’ book available? How about ‘Rendering for complete f***wits’???
Congrats Doco, only an Aussie could produce work this good!
Cheers mate, I wonder how many aussies are on here?
I dont do much lighting and rendering, but, a nice shader and lighting does really help a model look its best, so thought it was worth learning Mental Ray for this guy.
