Juri Taunt Figure - Street Fighter 6

I finished this Juri 3D model that encapsulates one of her taunts from the Street Fighter 6 game. I made two different scales of the figure, 1/6th and 1/3rd scale, each varying in detail and assembly. I also created three different bases inspired from different stages in the Street Fighter 6 game: King Street, Genbu Temple, and the Macho Ring stage. I did my best to add details in the bases where they would not only make sense visually but also practical for 3D printing. I think my favorite one is the Macho Ring base since the number 6 is embedded into the base and textured with a canvas-like woven texture.

I began this project with a sculpt I started several months ago when I created a Juri bust making a pouting face from the versus screen in Street Fighter 6. I knew I wanted to give her face more expression with less difficulty than before, so I started learning more about the Facial Action Coding System (FACS). Soon after learning more about anatomy and FACS, I learned about Character Creator 4 and Reallusion’s family of programs. I used Character Creator 4 as a tool to create Juri’s pose and facial expression, and then relinked the project into Zbrush, where I would fine tune, fix, and adjust the figure overall. Although I used masks and the transpose tool previously, I’m happy with how efficiently I could create bones for a character in Character Creator 4.

Another part of this project that is still on the backburner is the hollowed head to allow for an LED to shine through Juri’s left eye to shine just like the Feng Shui Engine does in the Street Fighter 6 game. This project challenged me to fully understand UVs and UDIMs and left me wanting to make UV tileable parts more efficiently. I’m glad to have learned a lot throughout this project, and I hope to get better at this endeavor to hone my skills and create numerous projects from props, figures, and even hyper realistic sculpts.
