Javier Bardem WIP

Hi guys, I never normally post my wips online but I tend to get a little stuck with some areas so feedback would be appreciated.

Current wip is Javier Bardem bust. Working on the face diffuse and hair simultaneously atm

Do you have front and side view in neutral pose? would like to help you with the likeness

I’m afraid I no longer have a neutral pose but here’s a shot from 3/4.
Working on the facial hair atm. I’ll go back to maps tomorrow as he’s sorely in need of a gloss map. Clearly the righthand image has sss and reflections turned off for the sake of expediency

Added more hair today. Beard is patchy af and I want the white to be better distributed and more obvious. The hairline needs drastically thinning - using Yeti with guide curves and haven’t gotten the hang of it yet
Needs more fullness and clumping to the hair.

Really like where this is heading, you certainly have the look of him. It’s hard work getting the character of a person right, you should be happy with your efforts.

Made some tweaks to the shader’s subsurface scattering and added a gloss map. Some areas are still too shiny and I want to add a map to control the scatter

Good work

So I found some time to work and made some alterations but now I’m confused.

There’s been a few changes between each of these 3 images but it’s the differences in the skin that I’m unsure of. So which skin looks the best?

Pretty happy with my settings now so going for a final studio lighting render.

Want to play with some other lighting setups too yet

good work,

So I’m calling the project finished so I might as well upload the last few images with different lighting conditions, a full body shot and some black and white just because. Now to move onto something game res and stylized
