How to create realistic material (cloth, leather, etc.) textures

I have been trying for some time to find a tutorial on how to create the texture for clothes… I recently got myself a copy of marvelous designer and have been learning how to model realistic clothing easily and how to sculpt creases. I am now at a later stage and I am looking to find a suitable way of creating and applying a texture to my clothes.

I have base models already created but before I start sculpting the extra detail into them (Creases, stitches, etc.) I would like to know how to go about creating the main material detail and texture.

(my work so far from Marvelous Designer)

How would I go about creating a texture such as the leather materials seen on this character (for AC Unity) http://www.artstation.com/artwork/assassin-s-creed-unity-agressor-soldiers

(I understand this takes a lot of experience but I have seen similar results from other artists that somehow create textures such as this very often and quickly, how would they go about this?)

(is there some way of mapping a seamless texture across a masked area without having to paint/ sculpt it on manually?)

I understand how to create the creases but how would you go about colouring it and creating the textured surface effect (normal maps, bumps, specular, etc.) Is it something that is possible to 3D sculpt within zbrush or is it something that would be applied using painting techniques within zbrush.

I would also like to know how to create realistic threading and cloth like materials for clothes such as these images

[I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO FIND ANY RELEVENT TUTORIALS SO IF YOU KNOW OF ANY I WOULD MUCH APPRECIATE A LINK!!]

For the second question make sure you are UVed and U.S. Surface Noise to apply a cloth alpha to the uv. Plenty of tutorials on how to do that.

For or the texturing, you could take a look at dDO perhaps.

I am also new to zBrush and I’m trying to model a chair cover (like those wedding chairs). I am having problems creating bigger creases. I don’t have a Wacom or anything so is there a way for me to define my stroke so that starting diameter and z strength changes during the stroke from beginning to the end?
