How to append a zsphere mesh without losing my other subtools

Hi all,

Little bit new to Zbrush and having trouble with the following, I’ve searched around but couldn’t find an answer…

I am trying to append a zsphere to my existing subtool, but whenever I click “Make Polymesh” Zbrush deletes all my other subtools?

Steps:

  1. Create a model (1st subtool)
  2. Click Append
  3. Select Zsphere tool and make my shape
  4. Click Make Polymesh
  5. All my other subtools dissapear and I’m left with just my polymesh.

I’ve tried exporting the new polymesh then re-opening my original model and then use Subtool Master to append my polymesh, but it doesn’t seem to go back to where I originally made it, so then I need to transpose back to where it should be, but then it also seems scale has changed (pulling what little hair I have left out at this point).

I’m used to other 3D software where you place a primitive, click to make it an editable mesh, and life goes on  Any way to do the same in ZBrush?

Much appreciated for any assistance.

After creating the polymesh, click back on your original tool.
Simply append your new zsphere polymesh to the original tool. It will be appended in place.

Awesome, thanks Thor. Couldn’t see my original model in the list as it was showing as the subtool I’d just created rather than my original model, and that’s where the confusion arose. All sorted now!

Thanks Thor.
