how good is the morgh target panel?

Hello! I’m new to zbrush and I just wanted to say how much I have enjoyed using the programme. Saying that, I have got myself into a bit of a pickle so hopefully someone can help me out here!

Description of what is going on:
-I have a character model which was originally modelled and UVW unwrapped in Max.
-It was then taken into Zbrush to do some hi res sculpting and polypainting.
-With this hi res model I created a normal map and colour map.
-I then used this maps for my low poly Max model but was told that my UVW layout was incorrect. Basically I had mirrored my UVs which was not usable for external light sources (if you shine a light on the left side of the model, when rendered the light would also shine on the right side so not good!)
-So I have now re unwrapped my low poly model in max so that there are no mirrored UV’s.
-I reimported this new low poly mesh with the new UV’s into Zbrush.
-From this point is there a way of getting my old hi res sculpt using the same UVs as my new low poly mesh? This is so that I can recreate the normal and colour maps again for my new mesh with the new UV layout?
-I’m guessing that the Morph Target panel will help with this but haven’t been able to get things working!

Assuming all you changed was the UVs then:

1 ) Select your high res model in ZBrush.
2 ) Go to the lowest subdivision level.
3 ) Store a morph target with Tool > Morph Target > StoreMT.
4 ) Press Tool > Import to import your model with new UVs.
5 ) Apply a 100% morph with Tool > Morph Target > Morph.

Morph targets store the vertice positions but not the UV data. When you press Tool > Import you are importing into the current tool and replacing the vertices and UV data. Morphing at 100% will return you to the old vertice positions.

I just wanted to say thanks alot for that. I have just tried it out and its worked a treat. I was worried that I would have to redo the sculpting and texturing so you have helped me out big time!
