How do You Pose your Human Characters ?

In order for me to make my comic Atomic Hell,Atomic Hell issue No .1 will be released Halloween. I half to make a page in 4 hours.
I just do not have time to go rig meshes in Blender ,DAZ Studio.wish I did but I just do not have the time.
So my chouses are Transpose ,Z Spheres ,Hierarchy.

I see Characters posed well in the zBrush Gallerys.
I don’t know if they used Transpose ,Z Spheres or Blender ,DAZ Studio ect ect.

If I half to I will make a human mesh in peaces with a hierarchy and just pose the peases.
but it would be best if i had a soild mesh.

I do not have a lot of exspearence with Transpose , Z Spheres Not even sure which tool I should use.
So far I can not get a desent pose out of a human shoulder or hips with Transpose or Z Spheres.
I seem to do a little better with z Spheres.
Can exspearanced Artist get good posses with Transpose or Z Spheres ,even human shoulder & hips ?
or have all soild mesh poses been done in Blender ,Max ,Poser ect ect ?

So Do I use Transpose ,Z Spheres ,Hierarchy ?

Where is the spell checker ?

Atomic Hell will be about leaving my grandkids planet alone so there have some where to live.
Here’s a drawing of Atomic Hell LOGO I drew.

I have had exactly no luck using transpose tools for this, I always destroy my model but that is me, other people do just fine for some reason.
Anyhow because of that I would have to recommend ZSpheres look here:

Thanks for the links .
I seem to do better with Z Spheres & Z Spheres seem to be faster .
Not that rigging has ever been my strong point in any CGI app.
So think I’ll go with Z Spheres .

Thanks again for the links ,I need all the help I can get .

In this instance so do I, help wise I mean.
Its not an easy process.
One of the main things is using low density mesh, and that has become
interesting and problematic with Dynamesh which hasn’t got lower
subdivisions to work with. There is a way to create them (lower
subdivisions) but its sort
of convoluted and I don’t know how to do it honestly.

I will keep looking into this as I STILL need to get better at it, so
keep at me and I will come up with more useful stuff if I can.

that has become interesting and problematic with Dynamesh which hasn’t got lower subdivisions to work with. There is a way to create them (lower subdivisions) but its sort of convoluted and I don’t know how to do it honestly.

Method One: Just use Dynamesh at one of the lower resolutions possible for the mesh in question and turn it off as soon as it’s no longer needed. Subdivide it to continue sculpting the rest of the details.

Method Two: Clone the tool and run qRemesher on it to cut its size down. Subdivide that and project the details back. See this tutorial . This or some other form of manual retopology would probably be the best bet for better characte animation/poses.

For sure. The thing with Transpose is that it can depend on where you place the action lines, and what your masks look like. The result is usually always never perfect, but the point is to quickly pose your model and then use the sculpting brushes to patch up the deforming areas. This also gives you a chance to adjust the rest of the model to account for the muscles stretching and contracting into the pose, or how folds would react to it.

Also a little side note to consider, but even if you think it might take longer to rig the model in another program, it’s something you should only have to do once and then you’re free to pose.

Side Note two: if your schedule is pretty cramped and hectic, you might want to look into a character creation system like http://exocortex.com/plugins/species (or whatever is available for your software of choice). It’ll start you off with a character base mesh rigged in a way that you can change it’s proportions to your liking (even some shape morphs to start some fat or muscle going). With a click of a button or two, it then uses that proportional rig to generate an animation rig. The model can then be GoZ’d to zbrush for extra details. You should be able to sculpt, bake a normal/displacement map, and send it back. It would still be rigged and weighted if the vertex order didn’t change.

Ever notice in the super hero comics that the human ratios some times get way off.
Cause they draw fast as they can and don’t have time to make it perfect or erase.
So they do the best they can on there first try.
3 artist draw a super hero page.
1 draws
2 colors
3 inks
Since I am only one .I do not time to draw a comic page.

In order to release a 40 page graphic novel / comic on the first of every month.
I half to make a page in 4 hours.
So we half to think in minutes not hours.
What we normally take a hour to do we half to do in minutes.

Transpose is just to slow.
It’s Z Spheres ,Hierarchy
Once a model is made that’s it ,it’s done. half to move on to the next model.

Species looks kool.

I tryed DAZ Studio Pro 4 ,has charters ringed and GoZ.
There’s a list of things that cost me to much time.
To use multiple app’s.

Maybe after Atomic Hell become successful and I can hire some help…

Killer tutorial buy Tate.

I swear the definition of insanity is making a CGI comic.
Anyways there’s no fast solution for posing and facial expressions.
Others might but I’m not getting anything done faster buy not using DAZ Studio.
So where back to using zBrush & DAZ Studio.
