How do you Extrude (like Maya) in Zbrush?

Hello all,

I am still new and trying to figure out Zbrush on how to extrude correctly in Zbrush.

So far the only similar thing that i found out is masking an area > invert > move tool to pull out geometry. However, pulling out the geometry doesn’t exactly pull it out in a perfect angle in came out from like component mode in Maya.

Can anyone help me out with this issue?

Thank you!

Hello @Samsam2020

There are a many different ways to extrude geometry in Zbrush.

If modeling at low poly, ZModeler has several extrusion options : QMesh, Extrude, and Transpose.

Transpose mode (either via Gizmo or the transpose action lines) can both extrude geometry. The direction the geometry extrudes depends on how you have the manipulator oriented, so it’s a good idea to understand the controls of these modes.

In addition, geometry can be extruded in the Tool > Geometry> Edge Loop menu.
