Hotkey for Scaling/Zooming Object?

Hello,
I was wondering if there’s a hotkey for zooming/scaling a model while you are working on it similar to left clicking outside the object to rotate or alt-clicking to move.
Thanks!
E

Yes there is. Do alt-click-drag to move object, and then while still holding mouse button down, release alt button and drag up and down to size up or down.

Ah, thanks! Been searching tutorials for where I saw that. Is that doing the same thing as using the size slider?

No, it doesn’t ‘physically’ change the size of the model - you can check this by looking in the preview window.

If you scale using the gyro, the preview doesn’t change, but if you use the size deform (Tools>Modifiers>Deformation) it does. This is important when using zspheres in that any parts of your zsphere tool that do not appear in the preview window will not be skinned and will be cut off.

If the size slider you’re referring to is for the brush size, and a good shortcut for that is to simply hit the s key and a slider wil appear under the cursor

Bonecradle-Cool, thanks for the tip. I’m practicing z-speres so that’s a mighty handy thing to know.

Zoid-Yep, the alt-release was exactly what I was looking for. I’m still trying to get comfortable with the flow of things.

Keep in mind that if you scale your object using the Gyro the scaling will not be picked up by a Marker if you are using multmarkers. To keep size transformations when using a marker to recall an object you must resize it in the Deformations pallet before you place the marker.
