I know this is probably something extremely simple that I’m missing. But I can not seem to remember how to fully use the curve tube brush. What I mean is I draw out the curve and I want to reposition the ends without bending the curve or cause it to accordion because it’s too long or dragging it along like a snake because it’s not long enough or moving the entire curve all together. I remember it being a no brainer you just do it and if you wanted some bend then turn on bend, but it doesn’t seem to be the case anymore did something change? Or do you have to lock the ends now? Or am I missing something all together? Any help is appreciated.
If you want to reposition the curve without affecting its shape then turn off Bend in the Stroke>Curve sub-palette. If you want to change the shape of the curve but keep one or both ends fixed then use the Lock Start/Lock End switches.
Yes sir, I know how to do that. But I seem to remember being able to reposition the ends by just grabbing them and moving them where you want without moving or bending the curve. If I remember right you had to turn on the as line in the stroke curve palette to keep it as a straight line. The best example I can think of is in the Ryan Kingslien shoulder anatomy study videos when he is using the curve tubes brush on a skeleton to draw out the muscles then shape them.
I’m not familiar with the technique in the video you mention but the way curves behave has changed a bit as more features have been added so it may be that it’s no longer possible to edit the curve in exactly the same way.
Right on thanks for the help any how I appreciate it.
