Hi, this is my first post!
I’ve just started following the tutorials and I’m stuck on the masking one… in the video around 0.48 he starts masking areas and the circle he creates is ‘perfect’ - when i try and do it it is all diffused.
I have my settings as per his on the screen but it still doesn’t seem to be working (I am holding ctrl when changing my mask brushes etc.)
I’m sure its something super simple!!

Hold Ctrl to access the masking pen controls and set Focal Shift to -100. This will give it the hardest possible edge.
If you only want to draw a perfect circle you can also change the Stroke type to DragDot. That will let you place a single circle exactly where you want it.
Remember that Ctrl must be held down while changing these settings. Otherwise you’re adjusting the sculpting brush rather than the masking brush. This principle holds true for when you want to modify smoothing and selection brushes as well. All three types are alternate brush modes and their settings can’t be accessed unless the proper key command is held to toggle that mode on.
