Head Study - Brad Pitt

What if… Brad pitt was a bald guy…LOL:lol:
I used Mr. Kostas’ technique for texturing and adding high freqency details. It was very fun and easy to do. However, since I only had front view image of brad pitt that could be usable as a texture, I did some hand texturing on both sides of his head…
I’ve also used skin material made by Jigsaw2211982. Maybe next time, I will try to create my own. Anyway, big thanks to Jigsaw2211982.

I’m still trying to figure out how I would approach hair. Maybe I would just use maya hair or fur…Got any ideas? Anybody?

C&C are more than welcome…Always.

Great work, so far. It really does resemble brad alot. I like the eyes the best so far. The only critque is that the nose dosen’t quite look right. Could you post your reference. Again, great work.

looking really good!

my crit is the ears look like they are sitting a little too high… and i agree with andy1010 that the nose isn’t quite right… i think its too big?

That is a great likeness. You beat me too it! I had thought he was a good candidate for a model. I can’t wait to see your finished model.

Outstanding!:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

Thanks everyone.
Here is the ref image that I used
I really had hard time to make the nose look right… I guess there is still something that I’m missing…
Anyway, I will post the revision asap.

I’m sure you’ll find a side profile somewhere.

looks great from the front, something not quite right from the side.

keep it up. a few more tweaks and I think you’ll nail it.

Happy July 4th! Everyone.
As you guys saide before, I realized that his tip of nose was modeled slightly bigger. So I fixed the nose and also worked on the ears. Now… time to rest for today. Gotta do some firework…

I hope my paintover halps a little.just my memory of Brad’s profile.

Thanks Elixir!
I made some revision on the proportion of my model.
Your paintover really helped a lot:D (his neck was too thick, position of his ears was little high, etc…)

The image that I had posted earlier was not really profile of him. (About 80 degree angle view, I guess.)
However, this one is real profile view (along with front view, of course…)
If you don’t mind, another paintover please?

Hi there…

I think the front is coming along great, still something about the ears im not quite sure wether they are too high, or out of shape?

i did a paint over for the profile… i hope it helps… i did a celebrity head for a job recently, who is dead, with hardly any reference, so i know how hard this can be… the skull isn’t exactly in an orthographic side view, so its not 100% but i hope you don’t mind… i think this will be a really good model, if you sort out those issues. keep it up!

 jjssanjuck
First off… Nicely done! keep working it. It will be perfect with very few minor changes. And to your credit, it looks like we all are looking forward to seeing this completed, your changes are definately going in the right direction

BAKER 17, Very, nice paintover:+1:

I will be following this thread to see this nice piece progress.
Cheers,
~Mr.M

Thank you baker17.
Your paintover made me realize how important basic structure was.

Thank you cyberman for uploading the profile view of brad.

Thank you Mr. Monster for cheering me up.
I just hope that I am going in the right direction. This is quite exausting…
Everytime I make some changes, another problem comes up…
However, with all you guys’ help, I’m learning something everyday!!

Time to go to sleep. Hopefully I won’t see Brad Pitt in my dream. My eyes are getting soar :frowning:

The profile is looking much improved. Baker17’s paintover really illustrated the point. You are getting there.

Here is another paintover which likely contradicts my last one from memory!! In any case, I overlayed the image from the movie poster then painted on a 3rd layer the differences. I think the eye placement may well be causing the ear placement issues… as you can see from the new eye location. Also look at the front of the neck it goes much farther back. The nose is slightly larger and shaped slightly different, as is the angle of it. The inside line of the overpaint for the nose, forehead, and neck represents where it should be, as opposed to the outside of the line… (I just roughed it… if I was good I would have bezier curved it for you:))

Hope it helps
