Due to my scripting problems, the script isn’t ready yet, however, I prepared a text tutorial.
First, I started off with a preliminary sketch:
Next, I used a sphere object. I then masked out a basic hair shape (square for the face to show through and the bottom, leaving the areas for the top and sides of the hair unmasked).
I then inverted the mask and pressed “hide points”.
Then I used I used Transform, Edit, to model the shape of the hair into something more natural.
For the next step, I used the snakehook tool to further define the hair. I also used the eraser tool somewhat as well.
Even more snakehooks:
Then I merged all my layers together, baked the remaining layer.
I set the picker color to “once”. Then I select the simple brush tool, set the stroke type to freehand and the spacing to 0. This ensures an unbroken line while drawing. Make sure RGB is selected under the draw pallette. I set the draw size to “3”. I then draw in fine hairs with the simple brush over my pre-existing hair.
When I have everything the way I want it, I then use the shader tool to add in shiny highlights to the hair, then I’m done.
