Hi All

I first saw david lunches Dune when i was a kid and it totaly blew me away, I didnt have a clue what it was about but it looked strange and amazing and ever since I have been a real fan of dune.
So i desided to sculpt my interpretation of a guild navigater its still a work in progress so crits are more than welcome,the second pic is just a quick test for fun, in the final image i going to place him in a spice gas chamber.

GUILD NAVIGATERS

Guild Navigators or Steersmen, are humans mutated through the consumption of massive amounts of the spice melange, the spice gives them the abilty to fold space using ships known as heighliners, without the guild and there navigaters traveling the known universe becomes impossible.

haha awesome creature, cant stop laughing. He seraiously has his brain on in a skinsack on the back! nice and freaky design. Didnt like the “render” as much as the other pictures where you just show the model. Plz do some more cool designs :lol:

My mother loves the Dune novels and the movie. I have to show her your great sculpt. :slight_smile:

Cool character design. I really like that it looks atrophied, like it hasn’t used its muscles in a long time. I also think it’s cool that you used the creepy mouth shape from the Lynch film.

This is disgusting and brilliant all at the same time. Love the feel of the skin, feels really leathery, really nicely sculpted. He’s like the god of testicles. :lol:

hehe, you had the same exact experience as me with the movie Dune. I tottally didn’t get it the first time I watch it, as a young-ling, but still was amazed by it.
Really great work and idea. Look forward to seeing it developed

Hi all

Thanks for all your comments, i get the feeling that most people think the sack on the back is a really large brain, i was trying to make it look more like some sort of intestine and now i look agein, with fresh eyes, it does look just like a large brain,:smiley: lol how did i miss that, so im going to have another go at it and see what i can come up with, thanks alot guys some very usefull comments from you all.

nice one Dustinbrown u spotted the mouth, it matches the discreption of a navigtor in the book.

a"tiny v of a mouth" and “ugly flap of nose” and that "Mouth and nose appeared small on a Navigator’s gigantic face with its pulsing temples.

if you ask me it Sounds like an X Factor contestant.

I think from a narrative point of view the brain works perfectly, where as I don’t see how large intestines come into play?
Anyway it looks ace as a brain. Don’t Fight it :stuck_out_tongue:

It does actually read more like intestines but your gonna find it hard to sell as that with the placement.
