Grumpy Little Devil

Hi All

Here’s my first experience with z-spheres so be gentle  I’ve made it partly for fun and partly as an experiment… Now I know where to put more spheres next time around [I subdivided him 7 times which still didn’t give me enough geo] and what to avoid [zbrush cubes  ]!

The starting point for this one was one of the sculptures by Mark Newman [I later got carried away and changed it a bit so his face now looks more like them Labyrinth goblins :stuck_out_tongue: :o ]! It’s my homage to Mark’s great art.

It was a good learning experience if nothing else! Hope you like:

Here are some other angles + the z-sphere wire for the guy himself:

Very nice work Intervain,
I like the middle one in the “other angles + the z-sphere wire-render” best,
he really looks away from the camera…

Luc

Its a very good sculpt although I would like to see the happy devil too. You do lose points for not creating it from scratch.

thnx Luc!

Womball - the other one’s an angel :stuck_out_tongue: - and what does it mean from scratch? 1 polygon? :o if you mean concept then indeed I didn’t do that

Nicely done and composed

Wow! What a cool character. I love his personality.

So cute! Nice pose, looks good!

Character design…

Fantastic work.

I agree with rotating your view to be the middle one of the tests posted. Better form, but that is subjective.

The ‘flames’ are very well done, except that they end abruptly at your little demon. They need to flow up and around caressing him.

For the record: very nice use of zspheres.

In ZB3.x you can go back and make those edits easily without destroying a thing. Don’t stop!

… and very expressive! The render is very nice.
I agree with Jason about flames… So impatient to see more…
