GOZ not finding Houdini

Hi, i recently bought Houdini indie, from Steam. GOZ button is already installed in the latest version, so all i had to do was go into zbrush hit GOZ and bingo…but it couldn’t find it… i’m confused please help me

Houdini is not a supported GoZ application.

You’ll have to use traditional export/import to accomplish the file transfer.

What about this then? https://www.sidefx.com/tutorials/installing-goz-plugin-for-zbrush/

I’m trying to get this to work too but everything says “follow the standard procedure to install a new GoZ application in Zbrush” after activating the GoZ in Houdini and dropping GoZ nodes. Houdini says it’s running. Nodes try to send to zBrush, but report failure. Zbrush just keeps cycling through Maya, Photoshop, C4D etc. when I try to add it have it add a new application. Zbrush won’t even find Modo, which I have, and which is a supported application. Are you on Mac or PC?

You need to add the Houdini path.

Preferences > GoZ > Path to Houdini

Browse to Houdini bin folder and select Houdini.exe

C:\Program Files\Side Effects Software\Houdini 18.0.416\bin\Houdini.exe

Then in Houdini - under Shelves -

click + add shelf > Shelves > check SideFX Labs

Click Start GoZ button to open port. Click OK when it tells you port is open.

Thank for your instructions, but, no go. I got Houdini indie from steam and have no idea where the path to houdini.exe would be…and yes, I’ve checked the steam folder lol

I made video, just different exe file in Houdini path for that Steam edition.

Will the Goz plugin work for Houdini Indie 19.5? it was only recently released i think, and I’m seriously considering switching to houdini indie over maya, as paying for a license for both every year would be about £550 (plus VAT), i’m just not sure if the price shown on steam includes VAT or not.
