This piece draws its inspiration from the original artwork by Mr. Xu Zihui, titled “Canghai Records” (https://www.zcool.com.cn/work/ZNDg2MzY2Njg=.html), featuring an oriental mythology theme that I hold in high regard.
In the depths of the Eastern Sea, there lives a dragon-headed god with a fierce face and a voice like thunder. Soaring through the heavens and traveling the seas, the god is the embodiment of desire, shielding fishermen from the wind and rain while at the same time making waves and punishing overfishing and environmental destruction. He is honored as the divine ruler of the Green Dragon.
From a fan’s perspective, I incorporated some elements of my own imagination into the composition, enriching the image with intricate details, amplifying its overall visual impact, and consequently elevating the presentation of the artwork.
The entire model was meticulously sculpted and placed using Zbrush, while Xgen was employed to create the fur. Substance 3D Painter was utilized for the texturing process, and the final rendering was achieved through Arnold. The journey was indeed challenging, and there were moments when I contemplated giving up. However, I discovered immense joy in the creative process, and with time, I grew to relish it. I sincerely hope that you will enjoy my work.
