In related news, this year’s Cintiq model (the 21UX) does NOT suck. I must own one, and so must you.
I didn’t get a chance to try out the new 6D pen at Siggraph this year (but will still buy one anyways), yet I was able to catch the new Cintiq 21ux in action, and yes, I am planning on black market selling my girlfriends liver so I can get one! That thing is the jaw-dropping sports car of tablets.
Also…I had caught Feng Zhu’s demo at the Gnomon booth, and he had commented that he didn’t really like the earlier Cintique, but the new one was cool.

I did get a chance to buy the 6D art pen. Pretty nice, but a little on the pricey side. All of them are, though. The nice thing about it is that Painter will attach a specific brush to a pen, and remember which pen had that brush/color/etc. Pretty neat. You can have a bunch of pens and switch between them when you want to change your style. The directional support for the 6d pen is great, but I have to experiment with it to mimic my Pantone pens (which I would love to dump) but there are some tricks that are hard to mimic as fluidly. Just takes time, I guess.
Good buy, I wouldn’t trade it in for the cash I spent.
Haha, I have both the new pen and the 21u Cintiq coming over for some demo time. The real issue is that no Cinitq’s are available until at least October and I would say December as the back orders must be filled. Very HOT item!
I’ll let everyone know as soon as they arrive for abuse. Just so the envy factor skyrockets! 
Not a problem for me – I’ve got my name on a “call me the MOMENT this is available” list, and it’ll take that long to save up dollars anyway.
