Fitting canvas manipulators on screen

Please indulge me if this answer is posted elsewhere - I could not find it using every search phrase I could think of…

My problem is simply that the canvas manipulators in the right shelf run off the bottom of my screen, and I cant figure out how to move or resize them where they are all visible. My screen resolution is 1920 X 1080, if that matters.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

If you are in 1920 x !080 then you must have changed your buttons size. Go to ‘Preferences > Interface > UI’ and lower the ‘Button Size’ slider.

Default Size is 42.

Are you sure your screen resolution is set to 1920 x 1080 ?

In the future, could you please post a screegrab of your whole interface.

Hi, thanks. Here is a shot of the whole screen. You can see that my “button size” is set to 38, which appears to be as small as it will go. I tried typing in a lower value (20) and it bounced right back to 38.

And you are absolutely sure that your monitors screen resolution is set to 1920 x 1080 ?

As seen here:

What size monitor are you using and how high will the resolution go? This is really unusual and it looks like you are in a lower resolution. Have you tried going higher than 1920x1080?

I use 1920 x 1080 and this is my UI.

That’s weird. But weird software problems seem to be my lot in life. 1920 X 1080 is the highest it will go. I did try 1600 X 900 for kicks, looked just the same.

The only other thing that I can think of is that your monitors DPI Scaling is set really high. Mine is set to 96 which is the default. I don’t know what OS your using. It looks like Windows 7. See this link on how to change it. I’m on Vista.

Yes, thank you. That was the problem. I’d set my display to 150%. Resetting to 100% gets all of ZBrush on the screen, but at the expense of being able to read…

Guess I need to visit my optometrist.

Thanks, again.

Did some customising. Files in zip. My screen resoloution is same as yours. Be sure to read the READ ME file. Use at own risk, may or not work as expected in all circurmstances. Somewhat documented. Edited files some, redownload if you wish. Comments from anyone?

Your just used to seeing it large. Your eyes will adjust to the new size.

No, your eyes won’t adjust…lol. I wish, as do many others plagued with poor vision.

Also, you can probably scale your button size back up in ZBrush Preferences if you havn’t already.

I reset the display to 125% (split the difference) - ZBrush still fits and, yes I and up the button size a bit, as well. Thanks again!

Doug, I downloaded your zip and may play around some with that later. Right now I’m more focused on getting up to speed with ZBrush basics.

Thanks to all!

Basic is getting your UI to your liking and becoming one with it which enhances workflow.

I sometimes use a projector and prefer my DPI setting at 150% because small text is blurry. In a custom interface while in a lower DPI, I moved the canves manipulators in the right shelf to be side by side with the higher canvas manipulators to solve this problem.
Now the only problem I have at 150% DPI is the top of the surface noise popup menu is cropped off. If anyone knows any solutions for this while at 150% DPI that would be great.
