Error opening a file at home that I made at work

I have been trying to do a large project , and as such have been taking my work home to continue. Unfortunatly, when I try to open my file made at work, it doesnt allow me to open it at home and vice versa. is there a reason for this and a way around it? I need to get this project finished. please help

What error message do you get? What file format are you using? (ZPR? ZTL? Something else?) Are both computers running the same ZBrush version?

So long as both copies of ZBrush are the same version, you should be able to go between machines without trouble. But even if one of them is a different version the issue shouldn’t be happening both ways. At worst, only the older version would be unable to open files created by the newer version.

they are both the same version. If I make a file at home, I can open it at home, but not at work. If I make a file at work, I can still open it at work, but not at home. I will try to update each version, but I dont believe this is the issue

zbrush%20error

…so… although I DO have the most recent version downloaded on both computers, it was trying to open the file on an old version that I was keeping on my machine at home. I have just uninstalled all older versions so that this wont happen again. feeling a little silly. Thank you very much for your help
issue resolved

Sounds like you were probably double-clicking the file to open it, and your OS was launching the version originally associated with the file format but hadn’t updated that meta data when the new version was installed. One of the reasons I rarely double-click a file to launch the program. I’ve had way too many file association errors with programs over the years.

I’m glad you got it figured out!
